We spent the early afternoon at the Acropolis, where we saw the Temple of Nike, the Parthenon, the Caryatids, and the Odeum of Herodes Atticus. From the Acropolis, we got a great view of the Agora, Athens below, the Mediterranean to the East, the Lycabettus hill, and some snowy mountains a bit to the West.

The animals here roam wild, but they are nonetheless respected, especially the dogs. They look like they are all different breeds, and they have been collared and neutered by the government. They also seem to be quite friendly, especially to the girls. A group of three ‘protected’ us when we were walking by the Acropolis last night; they barked savagely at any men that came near. There are doves cooing in small holes in the side of the Acropolis, and we saw black and gold ques of up to 13 caterpillars moving along the pathways.
